Psoriatic Arthropy: what you need to know.
This session will cover how to identify patients with potential psoriatic arthritis in primary care. It will focus on the epidemiology, clinical features and domains of the disease, whether investigations are helpful utilising case histories to illustrate some the key points.
- 1.Psoriatic arthritis is chronic inflammatory disease affecting skin and joints and tendons. It has specific clinical presentations which help distinguish it from other rheumatological conditions.
- 2.It is associated with extra-articular manifestations such as IBD and uveitis, in addition metabolic syndrome and CVD more common in these patients
- 3.Remember to screen your pre-existing psoriasis patients for PSA annually using PEST
- 4.Early Recognition and referral is key to improved outcomes
