Getting the best from your First Contact Practitioners and quality integration within primary care

13 Oct 2022
Best Practice Workshop Theatre

The additional roles in primary care have been in place for several years and most PCNs have found great value, as well as challenges in their integration into the primary care MDT.
Phin’s talk will draw upon his experience of working in primary care, as well as his role as an ambassador for HEE around the governance and effectiveness of the additional roles and ARRS scheme as a whole. He will discuss the risks and challenges associated with new roles, both at a practice and PCN level, and explore the range of benefits to patients, GPs, AHPs and PCNs. The talk will draw upon data collected over the last few years to demonstrate best practice and present useful tips for PCNs to get the most from their FCP service.

  • 1.How do you get the best from your FCP service.
  • 2.What are the risks of additional roles in primary care and how to mitigate them.
  • 3.What does the future hold for the additional roles in primary care MDT.
  • 4.Why a focus on clear structure, strong governance and transparency is the key to success
