NICE guidelines: safer prescribing of analgesics - patient and prescriber perspectives

The launch of new NICE guidance often raises more questions than it seems to answer. This session aims to highlight the recommendations which are most likely to impact practice and give practical ideas for how to implement them.

  • To be aware of the recommendations from the NICE guidance on safe prescribing and withdrawal
  • To consider patient-focussed strategies to improve communication when introducing and reducing analgesic medicines
  • To improve awareness of tools and resources available to assist in safely prescribing and tapering analgesic medicines
