NHS England working in partnership with integrated care system (ICS) leads and representatives, has devised a Framework for Action to help systems develop plans that can support people who are taking prescribed medicines associated with dependence and withdrawal symptoms. Tony will provide an overview of the framework and its links with national medicines optimisation opportunities.  We will present two case studies.  Cathy will describe the evolution of a whole system approach to support reduction in prescribing of dependence forming medicines and Devina will share a model of system-wide communities of practice where patients have better quality of life and GP practice workload is improved
