Preparation for the nursing associate apprenticeship

12 Oct 2023
Best Practice in Nursing Theatre

Registered nursing associates should be an important part of the workforce plan for general practice nurse teams. There is a wealth of experience and knowledge within the current health care support workers which is waiting to be developed. However there is evidence to suggest many are unprepared for entry into a foundation degree apprenticeship.

1. Understanding how the registered nursing associate role looks in general practice.
2. Identifying and supporting the prospective trainee nursing associate
3. Ensuring the wider practice team understands the importance of this role.
