In the last 5 years we have seen a huge increase in the demand for menopause consultations and prescriptions for hormone replacement therapy have more than doubled. This talk will include evidence-based guidance and useful resources for clinicians. The talk is aimed at equipping primary care colleagues with a step-by-step approach to dealing with both new menopause consultations and challenging consultations (including when to refer patients to secondary care). The talk will cover evaluation and management of common side effects and problematic symptoms (such as bleeding issues on HRT) and helpful tips on managing higher risk patients as well as advice on alternatives to HRT.
