Anti-ageing medicine and integrating the role of lifestyle interventions
This session examines the emerging field of anti-ageing medicine and its practical relevance in UK primary care. GPs increasingly encounter patients seeking advice on longevity, prevention of multimorbidity, and maintenance of function into older age. We will explore the evidence around biological and epigenetic ageing and the benefits of modest weight loss as well as the evidence for implementing positive lifestyle changes. Practical consultation tools and shared decision-making techniques will be highlighted to help GPs embed lifestyle discussions into routine practice, supporting patients with sustainable, personalised interventions.
