Group Asthma Reviews

09 Oct 2025
Respiratory Skills Theatre
This session explores the benefits and practicalities of delivering annual asthma reviews through group clinics, both face-to-face and virtually. Group care reduces duplication, encourages peer support, and enhances patient understanding of triggers and the importance of preventer medication. Inhaler technique checks can also be effectively carried out in this format. Participants will hear directly from clinicians experienced in group asthma care, gaining valuable insights into why this model works. The highly interactive session will spark new ideas and inspire attendees to consider implementing respiratory group clinics in their own practice.
Speakers
Rupa Joshi, Deputy Medical Director for Primary Care NHSSW and Primary Care Medical Directorate Lead for Group Clinics - British Society of Medicine Transformation Lead, GP Partner, Woodley Surgery
Alisha Evans, National Programme Manager - Experience Led Care
Beverley Bostock, ANP in Long-term conditions - Primary Care Cardiovascular Society
