Clinical Support Solutions Brings Fully Managed Clinical Pharmacy Support to Best Practice 2026

Clinical Support Solutions (CSS) will be exhibiting at Best Practice 2026 on 6 and 7 October, giving GP practices and Primary Care Networks the opportunity to explore a different approach to building and managing clinical pharmacy capacity.

Visitors can meet the CSS team at Stand G55 to discuss how a fully managed clinical pharmacy service can provide additional capacity while reducing the recruitment, supervision and governance burden on already stretched primary care teams.

Established in 2019, CSS has grown to support more than 100 GP practices and 50 Primary Care Networks, with a workforce of over 200 clinicians.

Rather than simply supplying individual clinicians, CSS provides an end-to-end managed service. Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians are recruited, deployed, supervised and quality-assured by CSS, giving practices and PCNs a single accountable partner for service delivery.

Services can be delivered remotely, on-site or through a hybrid model, allowing support to be built around the needs, patient population and existing workforce of each organisation.

More than additional workforce

CSS clinicians can support practices and PCNs across a broad range of clinical pharmacy and medicines-management activity, including:

  • Structured Medication Reviews (SMRs)
  • Long-term condition management
  • Medicines optimisation
  • Prescription and repeat medication management
  • Medication reconciliation
  • High-risk drug monitoring
  • QOF optimisation
  • MHRA drug safety alerts and safety audits
  • Discharge and hospital correspondence
  • Wider medicines-management and clinical pharmacy workloads

A key part of the CSS approach is the infrastructure that sits behind the clinician.

Structured clinical supervision, audit, significant-event learning, continuing professional development and quality assurance are embedded within the service, helping practices maintain effective clinical governance while increasing capacity.

Supporting primary care teams under pressure

Qasier Wakil, Founder of Clinical Support Solutions, said:

“The challenge for primary care isn't simply finding another pharmacist or pharmacy technician. Practices need reliable clinical capacity, but they also need the supervision, governance and operational support that allows that clinician to become an effective part of their team.

“That is what we've built CSS to provide. We take responsibility for the workforce behind the service, while working closely with each practice or PCN to make sure the clinical activity is aligned with what they actually need.

“Best Practice is a great opportunity for us to meet Practice Managers, PCN leaders, GPs and clinical teams face-to-face. We want to hear about the pressures they are experiencing and show them what a properly managed clinical pharmacy service can look like.”
