Because lipoedema is still poorly understood in primary care, many women find it frustratingly difficult to obtain a diagnosis, the right advice, care and treatment,  Alongside supporting our members, we share up-to-date information with health professionals, report on research, and commission studies to drive forward knowledge and improve outcomes for everyone affected by lipoedema. Our current projects include focusing on supporting Primary Care GPs and Clinicians through better understanding of Lipoedema through care pathways and management strategies. We are also preparing for the next NICE review of the effectiveness and safety of specialist liposuction surgery for lipoedema expected in 2026.
