6.5 million people live in the West Midlands. 600 cancer cases are diagnosed per 100,000 people every year – this is set to increase as our population ages. By 2030 there will be some 135,000 people living with and beyond cancer.
We bring together clinical and managerial leaders from different hospital trusts and other health and social care organisations across the West Midlands, to transform the diagnosis, treatment and care for cancer patients in our local area. These partnerships enable care to be more effectively planned across local cancer pathways to benefit people living in Birmingham and Solihull, the Black Country, Coventry and Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Shropshire and Staffordshire.
The West Midlands Cancer Alliance has a number of ways that patients and carers can get involved in helping us deliver excellent cancer services. If you have received cancer treatment in the West Midlands region or are a carer of someone who has been affected by cancer in the West Midlands and want to help improve the delivery of services in the region, there are a number of ways you can get involved.
