Job summary.

 

Are you a dedicated mental health professional eager to make a transformative impact on the lives of individuals across the UK? We are seeking skilled and compassionate mental health practitioners to join our team. This pivotal role involves providing expert mental health assessments, interventions, and support to individuals facing a range of psychological and emotional challenges. As a mental health practitioner, you will operate within a dynamic and supportive environment, addressing complex mental health needs and contributing to the advancement of mental health services.

 

You will work autonomously and collaboratively, employing your expertise to develop and implement tailored care plans, facilitate recovery-focused interventions, and drive improvements in mental health outcomes. Key responsibilities

 

Clinical assessment and intervention.

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including detailed evaluations of psychological, emotional, and social factors.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans, employing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support mental health and well-being.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals in acute distress, ensuring safe and effective management of complex situations.

 

Patient care and support.

  • Deliver therapeutic services, including individual and group therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and other relevant modalities.
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, and carers to set and achieve recovery goals, ensuring a person-centred approach to care.

 

Case management.

  • Coordinate and manage care for individuals with complex mental health needs, ensuring continuity and integration of services.
  • Facilitate referrals to other mental health services and community resources, coordinating care transitions effectively.

 

Collaborative practice.

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver comprehensive mental health care.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and strategic planning to enhance service delivery and address emerging mental health trends.

 

Education and advocacy.

  • Provide education and support to patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
  • Advocate for the needs of individuals with mental health challenges, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning and decision-making processes.

 

Compliance and documentation.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with NHS policies, care quality commission (CQC) standards, and general data protection regulation (GDPR) requirements.
  • Uphold ethical and legal standards in all aspects of practice, ensuring the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism.

 

Continuous professional development.

  • Engage in ongoing professional development activities, including attending training sessions, workshops, and conferences to stay current with advancements in mental health practice.
  • Pursue additional qualifications or certifications relevant to mental health practice and therapeutic interventions.

 


 

Person specification.

 

Qualifications and experience.

·        Relevant professional qualification in mental health (e.g., mental health nursing, clinical psychology, or social work).

·        Registration with a professional body (e.g., NMC, HCPC, or equivalent).

·        Significant experience in a mental health setting, with proven expertise in managing complex cases and delivering therapeutic interventions.

·        Experience in crisis intervention and working with diverse patient populations

 

Skills and competencies.

·        Advanced skills in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

·        Proficient in various therapeutic modalities and techniques.

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

·        Comprehensive understanding of mental health conditions, including their assessment, treatment, and management.

·        In-depth knowledge of NHS mental health policies, clinical guidelines, and legal and ethical frameworks.

·        Awareness of public health issues related to mental health and strategies for addressing health inequalities.

·        Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and their application in mental health services.
