Job summary.

 

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in transforming healthcare delivery and making a significant impact on communities across the UK? We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic primary care network (PCN) managers to join our innovative team. This critical position involves leading and coordinating the efforts of multiple GP practices within a network to deliver seamless, high-quality care. As a PCN Manager, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of primary care, driving excellence, and improving patient outcomes in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.

 


 

Key responsibilities.

 

Strategic Leadership.

·        Develop and implement the strategic vision and operational plans for the primary care network, ensuring alignment with national healthcare priorities and local needs.

·        Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

 

Operational management.

·        Oversee the day-to-day operations of the PCN, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery across all practices.

·        Manage resources, including staff, budgets, and facilities, to optimise performance and achieve key targets.

 

Quality and performance improvement.

·        Drive the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with NHS standards and CQC regulations.

·        Monitor and evaluate performance metrics, using data-driven insights to enhance service delivery and patient care.

 

Collaboration and Integration.

·        Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including GPs, healthcare professionals, community organisations, and local health authorities.

·        Facilitate integrated care pathways, promoting seamless coordination between primary, secondary, and community care services.

 

 

Patient-centered care

·        Champion a patient-centred approach, ensuring that services are responsive to the needs and preferences of patients and their families.

·        Engage with patients and the public to gather feedback and incorporate their perspectives into service development and improvement.

 

Innovation and development.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and development within the PCN, leveraging modern technologies and best practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Support the implementation of digital health solutions, including telemedicine and electronic health records, to improve accessibility and efficiency.

 

Financial management.

·        Oversee financial planning and budget management for the PCN, ensuring sustainability and value for money.

·        Secure funding and manage contracts, including negotiating with commissioners and other funding bodies.

 

Governance and compliance.

  • Ensure robust governance structures and processes are in place, adhering to NHS policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulatory requirements.

 

Continuous professional development.

  • Promote a culture of lifelong learning and professional development within the PCN team.
  • Stay abreast of national and local healthcare developments, attending relevant training and conferences to maintain expertise.

 


 

Person Specification.

 

Qualifications.

·        Degree in healthcare management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

·        Postgraduate qualification in a relevant area is desirable.

 

Experience

·        Proven experience in a senior management role within the NHS or healthcare sector.

·        Demonstrated success in leading and managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams.

 

Skills and competencies.

·        Excellent communication skills, capable of building rapport with patients and effectively conveying information.

·        Proficient in basic clinical skills, such as taking vital signs and administering basic treatments.

·        Skilled in using electronic health record systems for documentation and care coordination

·        Visionary and forward-thinking, with a passion for improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.

·        Resilient and adaptable, able to navigate and lead through change.
