Rachel Stead serves as the Strategic Primary Care Network (PCN) Manager for South Sefton PCN, a large Primary Care Network based in North West England, caring for patients in the poorest 1% and least poor 1% of England. In her capacity, she collaborates closely with Clinical Directors to enhance patient care through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions. Under their leadership, South Sefton PCN was honoured with the “PCN of the Year 2024” award, recognising their significant improvements in patient access and capacity. The network successfully added over 25,000 appointments each year to general practice via the South Sefton Access Service, demonstrating responsiveness to local priorities and patient needs. Rachel attributes their success to strong collaboration and an exceptional staff team, emphasising the importance of partnership in achieving their goals.
