Advanced Clinical Practitioner Clinical Lead, Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
Alex qualified as a nurse in 2002 and worked briefly on a Vascular Surgical ward. She then spent nearly 10 years of her career working in Critical Care. During that time, she completed her degree in Health Sciences with a Critical Care speciality. She later moved on to join the Hospital @ Night team which included triaging all the referrals through to the medical team overnight and clinically supporting overnight in a large University Hospital. Alex progressed to become a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner within Elderly Care. During this time, she was cited as a contributor to the Advanced Clinical Practice Framework for the West Midlands. Alex moved to the Community in 2021 and has been there since as an ACP and more recently as the Professional lead for advanced Practice in the Adults and Community Services Division. Alex is also an active member of the British Geriatrics Society and is currently the Secretary for the West Midlands branch.
