CEO & Founder, Pancreatic Cancer Action
Ali was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2007 which unlike 90% of patients, it was detected early enough to allow a life-saving operation followed by chemo-radiotherapy which cured the cancer. Having been astounded by the dismal survival rates Ali was inspired to set up Pancreatic Cancer Action in August 2010. Ali is passionate about encouraging early diagnosis of the disease so that more patients could have the same outcome as her. Ali is also a key opinion leader and spokesperson, regularly speaking at conferences. She was a founding board member and President of Pancreatic Cancer Europe 2018 – 19 and Chair of the World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition 2015-2018. She is currently on the steering group for World Pancreatic Cancer Day Coalition and a faculty member of CECOG Pancreatic Cancer Academy.
