Charlotte is a lecturer, researcher and clinical specialist paediatric respiratory physiotherapists, with a specialist interest in breathing pattern disorders, complex breathlessness, holistic healthy living and exercise induced laryngeal obstruction. She has been involved in multiple research papers, book chapters and clinical guidelines within these specialties. Founding member of a national collaborative of specialist physiotherapists within the UK (Kid’s Cornerstone Collaborative) to help to improve and standardise assessment and treatment for children with asthma and/ or breathing pattern disorder.
The Buteyko Breathing Association (BBA) is a not-for-profit organisation of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals trained in Buteyko techniques to treat breathing pattern disorders. The BBA aims to promote and sharing the evidence-based practice of Buteyko breathing techniques in healthcare settings. The BBA also provide breathing re-education/ re-training for adults and children with or without asthma and other breathing related conditions. Claire Hepworth & Charlotte Wells work as part of the BBA, providing an online teacher training course for healthcare professionals across the UK, Europe and Australia to become accredited in this technique.
