Dr David M. Smith is a new to practice general practitioner with an interest in education and academia, based in Yorkshire, England. He has an interest in public health and the factors that influence recruitment and retention for newly qualified GPs. He was elected Chair of BMA’s GP Trainees Committee in Sept 2022 and has championed GP trainees in their fight alongside other junior doctors for full pay restoration and, in England, addressing the deficit in the GP flexible pay premia
