Devina Halsall PhD was appointed as Accountable Officer for Controlled Drugs for NHS England Northwest Region in 2014, and then Deputy Chief Pharmacist in 2021. She has over 30 years’ experience in healthcare, including conducting NIHR-funded research on clinical productivity, and on defining and measuring healthcare quality. Devina values diversity of thought and connects people and ideas to lead change. Most recently, Devina has been advising on the use of quality improvement methodologies, in multidisciplinary communities of practice, to successfully reduce unsafe opioid prescribing in some of the most economically challenged areas of England.
