Stan undertook his registrar training in the West Midlands Deanery and completed post graduate research degree and was awarded his MD from the University of Birmingham with thesis investigating the role of ambulatory oxygen therapy in skeletal muscle dysfunction in COPD. Within the Black country ICB he has helped developed guidelines for airways disease.
