Queen's Nurse Heather is a social innovator and influencer of health policy. She chaired New NHS Alliance, a multidisciplinary membership organisation focusing on influencing national policy on health inequalities for over 2 years. A former general practice nurse and senior manager, she has returned to front line nursing, practising a social model of public health, co-producing solutions with local people and partners. Her latest innovation is BreathChamps: Where whole communities learn about children's asthma in fun ways. She is the current holder of the Sue Pembrey Award for person and community centred care. In 2016 Heather received the Open University Business School Alumnus Award for her 'Outstanding Contribution to Society’.
