Howard Lewis

Regional Liaison Adviser, General Medical Council (GMC)
Howard works for the GMC as the Regional Liaison Adviser (RLA), South East. RLAs promote the GMC’s ethical and professional standards for medical students and doctors. This involves developing regional relationships, facilitating interactive workshops, gathering intelligence about local issues and running consultation events. Before joining the GMC, Howard worked in the public and voluntary sectors for over 30 years. In 1990 Howard joined the Royal National Institute of Blind People where he worked as a Welfare Rights Adviser and managed RNIB’s National Advocacy Services. Howard then moved to work in primary care in West Sussex, managing the, then, Primary Care Trust’s patient and public involvement work and the Patient Advice Liaison Service function.
