Ingela works as an Macmillan funded consultant nurse at Addenbrooke's hospital, Cambridge covering surgical management of malignant brain tumours in particular. She has been in post since 2009 with a special interest in continued professional education and has published a book with Springer called 'Management of Adult Glioma in Nursing Practice' aimed at novice neuro oncology nurses. Furthermore, she is a pivotal member of the Tessa Jowell Academy and Brain Cancer Mission, aiming to improve early detection for brain tumour patients to improve overall outcomes and reduce health inequalities nationally. Her session today will focus on signs, symptoms and referral pathways for brain cancer patients using the faster diagnosis and 2 week wait rules.
