James Kingsland OBE
President, GP, National Association of Primary Care
James is the Senior Partner in a nationally award winning General Practice in North West England. He has a wealth of experience in general practice, medical education and medical politics. He is President of the National Association of Primary Care (UK) and is Co-author of the new care model, the Primary Care Home, and is one of two National programme Leads. He served as senior GP advisor at the Department of Health to both ministers and senior civil service between 1999 -2013 He was National Clinical Lead for the English Department of Health’s implementation programmes, for Clinical Commissioning Community and Practice Based Commissioning. In this role he was Primary Care Lead on the DH Board of the National Clinical Directors. He has also held advisory positions with NICE, CQC and Monitor. He is a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Teaching Hospitals and is a founding director of Waring Health Ltd, an international specialist medical consultancy firm. His inspiring presentation skills have established him as a national and internationally renowned speaker.
