Marie Therese Massey

Marie Therese is a registered nurse and registered sick children’s nurse and has had a long career in nursing, working as a general practice nurse for 30 years and as a senior lecturer since 2003 undertaking research in sexual health, primary care and nursing education. She was Chair of her local GPN Forum for 4 years and joined the RCN GPN Forum in 2014 becoming Chair in 2016. As Chair of the Forum she and her team have led projects that have supported the recruitment and retention of GPNs along with more recent projects on Social Prescribing and Resilience in Practice. She has recently been appointed as The RCN Professional Lead for GPNs. She is very passionate around promoting the unique contribution of GPNs to patient care by highlighting the skills and expertise of nurses in general practice.
