Matt first entered the world of General Practice in 2010, inspired by his wife, then a GP partner. With a Physics degree and a keen interest in technology, he quickly discovered he wasn’t a typical Practice Manager — but he developed a passion for using SystmOne and digital systems to improve patient care and streamline workflows for staff and GPs. After seven years in Practice Management, he founded Innovative Practice Limited, helping surgeries across the country tackle their challenges through practical, technology-driven solutions. Following years of close work with the Welby Group of Practices, Welby Innovate was founded — an intelligent SystmOne add-on that streamlines recalls, prescribing, and pathology management. By freeing up GP time, reducing administrative burdens, and improving efficiency, Welby Innovate allows practices to focus on what matters most: high-quality patient care. Matt’s work combines real-world experience with innovation, creating tools that support both staff wellbeing and safer, more efficient primary care.
