Medical Director, Medical Protection Society
Rob was born and brought up in Glasgow and studied medicine at Dundee University. After graduating he undertook several hospital appointments before becoming a partner in an urban teaching practice. Rob developed an interest in medical law and completed an MPhil in Law and Ethics in Medicine at Glasgow University. He worked as a medicolegal adviser with the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland before moving to Medical Protection Society (MPS) to set up their Edinburgh office. Rob went on to complete an MBA at Strathclyde University Graduate Business School and undertook several roles at MPS before becoming Medical Director in 2013. He is currently responsible for medicolegal services delivered to MPS members worldwide.
