Sarah graduated from Carshalton School of Nursing in 1988 and spent her early career in several roles developing a wide skill set not only in nursing but also leadership opportunities. Always keen to progress in whatever field of nursing, Sarah studied throughout her career gaining qualifications in clinical, teaching and leadership which ultimately led her into Primary Care Nursing in 2001 Sarah has continued to study as a General Practice Nurse. Believing that nurses are integral to supporting and managing populations in the management of their care , ensuring the NHS and the population it serves derives the optimal benefits from clinicians whom are educated and ‘up to date’ with advancing practice. Sarah has been the Practice Nurse Manager at her surgery for the past 3 years, transforming the nursing team into a motivated, innovative and positive workforce. Supporting and encouraging each member of the team to challenge them personally whilst supporting each-other within the team. Sarah became a Non-Medical Prescriber in 2020 which has contributed to her work within General Practice, providing joined up care for her client group and ensuring optimal benefits from both pharmacological and nursing interventions. Ensuring that the NHS and patients continue to derive optimal benefits from nurses with extended roles, Sarah champions advancing the practice of all General Practice nurses and supports the inherent changes this requires for organisations and people.
