Sinead Collins
Lead 4 Nations Penile Cancer Programme,
Orchid Fighting male Cancer Charity
Sinéad has worked in cancer services for over 20 years. She has a specialist interest in uro oncology, and penile cancer in particular. During 13 years at The Christie in Manchester, Sinéad set up and developed nurse led services for surgical patients and was appointed as clinical teaching fellow at The University of Manchester. Supporting patients remains a passion and Sinéad headed up Maggie’s cancer support centre in Manchester for over 4 years before embarking on a project role at Greater Manchester Cancer alliance, exploring the impact of Covid 19 on access to psychological support for cancer patients.
Tackling health inequalities sits at the core of her nursing values and led to a role in developing urgent care services in one of the most socially deprived areas in the UK.
Sinéad joined Orchid to lead a transformation project raising the profile of penile cancer in communities across the 4 nations. The project will create opportunities for peer to peer support for men with penile cancer and support the information needs of healthcare professionals and improve early diagnosis rates for this rare cancer.
