Senior Clinical Lead, Locum's Nest
Dr Ben Herring is a freelance GP locum with a special interest in expedition and wilderness medicine. Ben has worked all over the world on scientific and charity expeditions which has demanded many different skills and adaptability. When in the UK he has spent most of his time working in areas that have difficulties in recruitment of GPs, from both reputation and geography. Ben currently splits his time between working in the Shetland Islands as a GP and leading on the primary care aspect of Locum's Nest. He has a passion for innovation and new ways of thinking to solve the evolving challenges of the NHS which prompted diversification into health technology in 2017. Having experience of both the clinical and management side of primary care, Ben has been successful in helping GP federations and practices effectively utilise technology in order to solve their staffing challenges.
